SUPERVISORY RESEARCH PSYCHOLOGIST/COMPUTER SCIENTIST
Summary You will serve as a Branch Head in the GT55000 EXP & Applied HP R&D Div of NAWCTSD ORLANDO. ****This position has a control point of GS-14 Step 10. If selected, your salary will be set according to the established control points of this position which is $124,531 - $161,889.**** Responsibilities You will be responsible for the quality of the technical research, products, and services produced within the Branch. You will be reviewing and approving research and development proposals. You will be consulting with researchers, developers, sponsors, and other stakeholders to ensure research is consistent with its intended requirements and objectives. You will be reviewing interim and final deliverables and consulting on research protocols, analytical activities, and summary technical reports and publications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NM-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Supervisory Interdisciplinary Research Psychologist/Computer Scientist. Specialized experiences must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Executing human performance and training research, development, science, and/or technology development efforts; 2) Demonstrating experience in development of research and development objectives, authoring of research and development proposals, securing funding, execution, and leadership of research and/or technology development tasks; 3)Authoring and publishing research results in academic journals, proceedings, and technical publications 4)Developing and delivering briefings to audiences across a range of knowledge levels in the fields of human factors, human performance, and training;or training systems development. 5)Leading multidisciplinary (research psychologists, computer scientists, subject matter experts, etc.) teams in conducting human performance and training research and technology development projects. Education Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: For the 0180 series: Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. or the 1550 series: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR Bachelor's Degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
