SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the Occupational Safety Health and Environmental Department of Supervisor of Shipbuilding Gulf Coast. Responsibilities You will develop and implement appropriate employee training plans that address technical skills, proficiency and leadership development. You will implement provisions of Equal Employment Opportunity programs to ensure equal treatment, developmental opportunities and consideration of all employees. You will consult and maintain liaison with other Occupational Safety and Health technical and management personnel. You will prepare and present executive summaries, technical papers and metric presentations on complex technical issues to diverse audiences. You will serve as Occupational Safety and Health subject matter expert at conferences and technical meetings addressing issues. You will recommend changes to internal Supervisor of Shipbuilding Gulf Coast methods, procedures and policies governing the operation of assigned functions and responsibilities. You will guide, monitor and evaluate oversight and analysis of contractor Occupational Safety and Health programs at numerous shipyards. You will conduct huddles with subordinates to discuss work assignments and identify barriers to subordinate work completion. You will Identify and recommend solutions to problems using Occupational Safety and Health management techniques. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating Occupational Safety and Health programs to recommend or implement changes to methods, procedures or policies in support of ship construction and repair operations. Education Additional Information This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-03 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 and GS-13. This position has a control point; thus the salary range may be capped at GS-13, step 05, which is equivalent to $119,435. If your current salary is above this amount, your salary may be matched. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
