Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the HAZARDOUS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT BRANCH, MATERIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will provide HAZMAT program support to regional military and civilian customers. You will identify a means of handling excess Hazard Materials You will serve as the Branch Director and oversee supervisory and non-supervisory work of both General Schedule and Federal Wage System employees. You will monitor the efficiency of supply operations for Hazardous Materials Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Supply Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating an expert level of understanding for Federal Supply Management principles and techniques, to include knowledge of and skill in applying hazardous materials field concepts, principles, practices and the laws, rules, regulations and policies at the federal, state, local and navy level. Specialized experience must include the following: 1) Providing HAZMAT Program support; 2) Identify requirements to apply to conflicting and incomplete guidance to resolve specific conflicts surrounding Hazardous Supplies; 3) Defend and explain the program concepts during regulatory and oversight visits; 4) Enter into negotiations to expand the scope of the hazardous materials minimization Program; and 5) Establish policies, plans, and controls to effectively manage and provide supply support.
