*_POSITION OVERVIEW_* We are seeking qualified applicants to join the SNAP Outreach Unit for the position of*SNAP**Nutrition Education Coordinator.* The SNAP Nutrition Education Coordinator is based at Central Office in Boston but requires travel throughout the state. The SNAP Nutrition Education Coordinator in collaboration with contracted providers (implementing agencies) and SNAP-Ed specialists will oversee the development and implementation of the Department’s Nutrition Education program perUSDA guidelines. A summary of the SNAP Nutrition Education Coordinator duties is listed below. These are not all-inclusive. * Develop and manage the Department’s SNAP Nutrition Education state plan, including updates and submission to FNS. * Monitor USDA/FNS SNAP-Ed guidance, notify contracted implementing agencies of updates, and assess funding allocation and contract adjustments. * Coordinate with implementing agencies to evaluate activity levels, goals, and program performance, ensuring accurate data reporting and contract compliance. * Oversee the creation and review of SNAP-Ed contracts, budgets, and documentation for fiscal year start-up. * Provide consultation and support on SNAP-Ed activities, including site visits, FNS observations, and coordination with DTA management. * Responsible for supervising nutrition education specialists' staff, providing guidance, resources, and ongoing feedback to ensure high performance and professional development. * Manage quarterly expenditure reviews, final report compilation, and data entry into FNS systems to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines. * Oversee the invoicing process for contracted implementing agencies to ensure timely reimbursement and monitor budget compliance for SNAP-Ed implementing agencies. * Coordinate the management evaluation process with internal DTA teams and FNS, including program sites visits for observations of SNAP-Ed sessions being conducted by contracted implementing agencies. * Responsible for implementing innovative program enhancements to improve SNAP-Ed efficiency and impact. * Perform other assigned duties, as required. * * *_SPECIAL REQUIREMENT_* The role requires reliable transportation to areas with limited public transportation for travel-related assignments. *_Preferred Qualifications_* * Knowledge of federal, state, and local government systems. * Knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines governing SNAP and/or other government benefit programs. * Knowledge of DTA eligibility systems and related applications. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Expertise in using Microsoft Office applications to produce highly formatted documentation. * Excellent time management skills, with the ability to adjust to varying situations to meet emergency or changing program requirements. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.* II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.* III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.* *Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. NOTE: No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience. Salary placement isdeterminedby a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years ofdirectly relatedexperience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines.
