Supplier Development Engineer (PacSci)
**Job Title:** Supplier Development Engineering **Position Overview:** As a Supplier Development Engineer, your role is critical in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our supply chain. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supplier performance, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement. The Supplier Development Engineer will influence key decision making that concerns strategy, supplier selection, and talent deployment. This role will be integral in enhancing the success of sourcing strategies by helping to unlock synergies and capitalize on untapped capabilities within our supply chain. **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and implement supplier development strategies: This includes working closely with suppliers to improve their products or services and helping them meet the company's standards. + Evaluate supplier performance: They will be expected to be aware of the performance of key suppliers and for creating and implementing targeted performance development plans where appropriate. + Identify and assess potential new suppliers: They may also be responsible for finding new suppliers, assessing their capabilities, and ensuring they can meet the company's needs. + Collaborate with other departments: They work closely with other departments, such as procurement and quality assurance, to ensure that suppliers meet all necessary standards. + Train and coach suppliers: They may also be responsible for providing training and coaching to suppliers to help them improve their processes and performance. + Resolve supplier-related issues: This might involve partnering with Supplier Quality Engineers to resolve critical problems or issues related to supplier performance. + Ensure compliance: They are responsible for ensuring that all suppliers comply with industry and company standards, including those related to quality, safety, and sustainability. + Conduct audits to verify quality system compliance for critical supply chains. + Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) and Failure Review Board (FRB) activities as appropriate. **Qualifications:** + Strong communication, decision-making, and influence-building skills. + Proven ability to meet commitments and deliverables. + Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably defense or aerospace. + Extensive knowledge of quality systems, tools, and methodologies. + Leadership experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma, including lean management systems. + Experience managing professional teams and employees. + Applied knowledge of materials planning, production control, and operations management. **Education and Experience:** + Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a quality-focused role. + Prior supervisory or managerial experience is required. + Demonstrated expertise in corrective action and problem-solving. + 5 years’ experience in a quality function. + Previous supervisory experience a plus. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degree or relevant certifications. + Experience in supplier development and quality assurance in an international context. + Proven track record of improving supplier quality performance and establishing strong supplier partnerships. **Benefits** : + PTO + 401K + Health Insurance (medical, dental, optical) + Tuition reimbursement + Parental leave (mothers, fathers, and adoptive parents) In addition to the benefits, you’d expect we also offer flexibility, stability, and prosperity: + A bonus payment for all associates, paid quarterly, based on performance and behavior metrics. + 70 years of trend setters & trail blazers with new products. + Promote from within culture. + Opportunity to move vertically or laterally. + A culture where we all have a role in building a community where everyone belongs.
