As the Supplier\r\nDevelopment Manager, you will be working with the wider Procurement Team &\r\nstakeholders around the business to ensure procurement activities are optimised\r\nthrough having the right profile of suppliers in place, with focus on having the\r\nmost beneficial contracting & commercial arrangements in place with those\r\nsuppliers to achieve maximum commercial value from the relationship and\r\nmitigate risks.

This should\r\nfully support the needs of the wider Procurement Team as well as client and bid\r\nteams, allowing the Procurement Team and the business to access the Supplier\r\nDevelopment Manager developed and managed suppliers for day to day requirements\r\nand activities.

You will\r\noperate in a Hybrid Variable way of working with a need to be accessible to\r\nHemel Hempstead for weekly meetings.

What you will be doing:

Working with senior Sector stakeholders and Practice Leads, to develop the procurement strategy and working practices, and promote procurement capabilities.Provide frequent senior management and Team updates and reporting on progress and outputs against aligned objectivesManage the appointment of suppliers through comprehensive sourcing processes including eSourcing tools where appropriate.Effectively use data to monitor suppliers and spend in order to develop & implement approaches to re-negotiation, consolidation, savings identification & implementation.Ensure that existing procurement controls, policies and processes are adhered to by the business and develop new controls in conjunction with the Core Ops team, where needed and appropriate.Provide input and feedback to the business on supplier and procurement risk through all stages of the supplier engagementChallenge the business in respect to any supplier engagements where appropriate and ensure Procurement are a key decision maker in third party related activities.Conduct regular reviews of existing contracts with suppliers to ensure continued competitiveness and value for money is being achieved and to exploit price review clauses to their fullest extent.Investigate any new and alternative sources of supply & third-party technology in the marketplace, to enhance competition between our suppliers and to exploit any benefits for Sopra Steria where appropriate.

What you’ll bring:

MCIPS Diploma qualified - highly desirable.Effective communicator / stakeholder management.Self-driven strategic thinker with the ability to work independently.Extensive experience of working in a Procurement role at a strategic and also practical level.Experience of developing and implementing procurement strategy.Experience of dealing with complex negotiations on pricing and contract terms to deliver savings and commercial value wherever possible.
