About the Role:
Supplier Engineer I role concentrates on all aspects of supplier qualification and validation, supplier process & material changes required on value improvement projects, new product introduction & sustaining projects for Global Sourcing Category teams. This includes managing suppliers for BSC products across different BSC divisions.
Daily work involves being part of supporting sustaining projects and owning the manufacturing deliverables at the Supplier.
This is a developmental position working under close supervision and receiving specific and detailed instructions as to required tasks and results expected. Area of work involves processes related to qualification and assessment of supplied materials.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Performs a variety of routine technical tasks which provide experience and familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, products and programs of the materials function. Examples include completion of First Article reports, CMA forms, NCEP investigations and creation of Change Requests. This position allows time and latitude to learn the basic business processes, and assumes that guidance from more senior engineering staff, managers and mentors will be provided to aid development. Supports more senior engineers with project tasks including any of the following: writing and/or verifying specifications for raw materials & manufacturing supplies; creation of inspection procedures; development of test methods. Interfaces with suppliers with support from senior engineering staff and commodity team members to support investigation of supplied material issues or supply constraints. Execute NCEP investigations to determine assignable causes for defective components at receiving inspection. Support NCEP investigations where defects in supplied materials are identified elsewhere in production. Uses statistical tools with support from senior engineering staff. Demonstrates basic report writing skill. Assists in troubleshooting processes on-site at supplier facility, generally under supervision or to a plan agreed to be senior engineering staff May Interact regularly with component suppliers via email or telephone. Review and interpret information provided by suppliers for engineering accuracy and adherence to global material standard designations and use own technical expertise and other internal experts to assess if gaps in the material information provided can be filled through further discovery or analysis. May Work with little to no supervisory work direction to obtain or create complete and accurate material composition information on assigned components. Utilize corporate software tools to query the global material database to search for information. Consistently create and maintain highly accurate product data at all times. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal team members about the status of assigned component assessments.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Electromechanical, or equivalent experience. English Level required: 75% - 85%. Articulate communicator, strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally). Appropriately scaling information to the intended audience. Exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international) Please submit RESUME in English.

Desired knowledge: basic Statistics. Ability to work independently; organized and self-driven. Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teams. Strong bias for action and results orientation is critical. Individual must be self-motivated to learn and use that knowledge to produce results.
