In this role as a Senior Manager Supplier Finance, you will report to the Director of Strategic Procurement and will be primarily responsible for managing financial and administrative support functions and day-to-day activities to ensure financial objectives are fully achieved. Senior Manager – Supplier Finance

The Supply Resiliency team within the Strategic Procurement and Planning Division is looking for a talented and motivated Senior Manager of Supplier Finance.  This position will provide strategic insights and counsel to Finance and business segment leadership on supplier financial health, payment terms, supply chain finance, and structured trade finance solutions. This position ensures robust financial processes, measurements and governance are in place; and is recognized within Caterpillar as an expert in Finance and Supplier Finance topics.

What you will do:

Primary Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Partner with the business to identify opportunities for structured trade finance solutions, provide financial leadership across Supply Resiliency initiatives and evaluate sourcing decisions. This position regularly interacts with Vice President & Group CFO’s, Vice President & Directors of Procurement and other senior leaders.

Have ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences. Excellent human relations skills are required to develop a collaborative/cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the business.

Communicate effectively across a variety of audiences to gain understanding and acceptance of ideas and recommendations.

Have practical Finance experience and demonstrate success in both leadership assignments and project leadership. Must demonstrate creativity, foresight, business judgment and outstanding Finance knowledge along with sensitivity to enterprise financial impact.

Possess very high business acumen and deep expertise related to global financial products, industry standards, applicable regulations, financial markets, economics, banking, finance, and accounting.

Keep up to date with new industry trends, changing technology and regulations, as well as integrate changes into global processes, as appropriate.

Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired

What Skills you will have:

Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Financial Markets: Knowledge of the products, types, competitors, customer base, major issues and regulatory considerations in the financial markets; ability to apply financial market knowledge to various business environments.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Ability to work independently to drive results

Leading initiatives across functional and geographically diverse teams

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Extensive knowledge in supplier financial analysis and management

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, insurance or business administration

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners

Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a strong compliance culture (organization, policies and procedures) highly desired

Expert knowledge in organizational leadership and leading diverse teams

Additional Details:

This position will be located at our offices in Peoria, IL

Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

This role requires up to 15% travel
