Supplier Quality Engineer

Based in our Mansfield, MA location, you will be part of the team that produces pressure relief valves for nuclear power plants as well as valves for US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Safety and quality are of the utmost importance at Emerson. You will be the business partner and liaison to our suppliers, driving continuous improvement and excellence, ensuring compliance to company and government standards. **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Provide suppliers timely nonconformance data for rejected product. + Provide suppliers problem-solving and root cause analysis support to eliminate recurrences of non-conformances efficiently and effectively. + Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams to eliminate issues impacting quality. + Participate in daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to review non-conformances and identify appropriate dispositions. + Assist the Quality Assurance department with supplier correction of documentation errors and support permanent resolution of recurring issues. + Handle and monitor Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARS). + Ensure appropriate supplier corrective and preventative actions are implemented and shown to be effective in addressing quality deficiencies. + Conduct periodic supplier audits and performance assessments. + Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to address issues identified by suppliers relating to Design, Manufacturability, or Quality Requirements. + Drive continual improvement initiatives and maintain positive working relationships with vendors. + Create monthly reports. + Work with credit and debit memos. **Who You Are:** You are a professional who thrives on working across departments, and with vendors, to ensure we produce the highest quality products. You understand that different situations may call for different approaches. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + A Bachelors Degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical discipline is required. + A minimum of five (5) years of Manufacturing Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering experience, preferably in an Engineered-to-Order facility. + Experience with materials, manufacturing technologies, and manufacturing processes such as forging, casting, and machining. + Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills. + Able to facilitate work with multi-functional groups to get results. + Up to 30% travel required. + Proficient with Microsoft Office **Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:** + Working knowledge of ASME Section III Nuclear and Navy Mil-Spec **Our Offer To You:** We recognize the importance of employee wellbeing and know that to do your best you must have flexible, competitive benefits plans to meet you and your family’s physical, mental, financial, and social needs.
