Supplies Quality Engineer - Hybrid

This is a hybrid position is located in Valley City, OH and expected to be on-site 3 days per week.

This is a 12 - 24 month contract position.

The Job:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll be part of our Global Supplier Quality Team with focus on suppliers located in North America.  You’ll get to: 

Lead Quality activities as part of SBD’s New Supplier Selection Process including on-site Quality System Assessments/Audits (SQA), Quality training during on-boarding, and process qualification as part of the SBD Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).Work directly with suppliers to ensure understanding, conformity, and accountability to SBD Quality requirements.Monitor supplier quality performance metrics and manage/coach suppliers placed in formal improvement program (SIP).Support Quality personnel at SBD Plants in managing supplier nonconformances, including leading corrective and preventative action efforts (CAPA) directly with suppliers and ensuring all costs are captured for purposes of accountability.Communicate and implement supplier quality initiatives as applicable.

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an Engineering field3+ years of professional work experience with direct proven experience in Quality, Engineering, or ManufacturingExperience in applying quality tools and techniques (SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, PPAP, Sampling Plans, Corrective and Preventative Actions, etc...)Experience in leading organized problem-solving activities/initiatives.Experience developing presentations and presenting to senior management.Possess well-developed interpersonal, communication skills; experience with cross-functional teams.Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision; Think creatively to generate new ideas and break through barriers.
