Job Profile Title: Supplier Quality Engineer III
Location/Division Specific Information – SLC/ Grantsville, UT/ P03
How will you make an impact? –
Determines appropriate Inspection processes and directs IQC personnel, in executing day to day activities. Leads/Audits containment, corrective and preventive actions of supplier quality issues using the SCAR process, Tracks/communicates status on non-conforming parts/suppliers across all programs. Evaluates/manages supplier performance securing all KPIs are met to drive supplier improvement.
What will you do? –
Defines, develops and implements Supply base strategies that drive improvements is supplier selection, development, and leverage across customer programs for quality improvements and cost savings.
Provides support for NPI/ECN activities by participation in the AQP/PPAP/FAI process as required for supplier approval process.
Ensures that all production critical supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner, and corrective actions are implemented, coordinates/tracks the corrective/preventative action process effort using SCAR/SPR Tools, Leading SCAR process for problem resolution and continuous improvement, including critical analysis of supplier DOE, CPK, Gauge R&R studies and audits.
Defines and develops the appropriate Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods/processes (via inspection aids and instruction guidelines), training & directing the Incoming Inspection Lead/Auditors
Ensures ongoing site supplier evaluation is performed. Supplier Performance Reviews (SPR) are conducted on a monthly and quarterly basis, this will be achieved by using site information collected from Receiving Inspection/MRB (RTV PPM tracking), Customer Returns, SCARs etc… SPR will be reported to the Work-cell team, supplier and to the customer where applicable.
Proactively communicate information or issues that may impact the material/product performance/costs or manufacturability to all affected departments.

How will you get here? –
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, electrical/chemical/mechanical engineering preferred
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Manufacturing management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong electro/mechanical background.
Good skills in MS excel, word, power point, visio, and project
Understanding of the quality system, medical and commercial regulatory requirements and how they relate to the business
Ability to carry/lift material.
Ability to travel 20-40% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications: (Skills, education, training that your ideal candidate would have)
knowledge of plastic injection molding & tooling, metal stampings & tooling, metal fabrication, machining and various electrical components, connectors, PCB & PCBA, cable assembly, full assembly integration, Battery/electrical storage, etc.
6 sigma/Black belt training/certification
Able to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings
Manufacturing environment experience
Working in a multi-cultural environment
Indirect/direct management of personnel/supplier site
