Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re a Supplier Quality Engineer, Level II or III, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) position has a strong understanding of Quality methods and systems. The SQE is responsible for implementation and execution of methods and programs to ensure that suppliers have systems that meet specifications and standards. This position interfaces with the sourcing team and communicates direction to suppliers on issues such as quality performance improvement, part approval process, sampling plans, inspection methods, measurement system analysis, statistical process control contract reviews, problem investigations, evaluation of quality systems, and product transition activity.

What You Will Be Doing 

Execute Quality Engineering tools, with a primary focus on machining suppliers and machined casting, such as contract review, sampling plans, auditing principles, SPC, MSA, First Articles, PPAP, FMEA, PFMEA, calibration systems, etc., to assess suppliers assigned and gain a better understanding of issues in the supply base.Apply basic understanding of the relevant product or customer specifications, flow down documents, procedures, engineering or process drawings and regulating agent body requirements that apply to the products and suppliers assigned.Works effectively with suppliers to resolve problems using Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) tools.Participate with the Sourcing team to select and manage assigned suppliers.Executes established Quality plan for assigned suppliers, based upon: Type and complexity of product being procured; quality history of supplier; requirements placed upon items; level of supplier s demonstrated process control; participates in continuous improvement activities.25% - 50% Travel to assigned suppliers, as necessary (domestic and international).

What We Are Looking For 

Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) in a technical field required.Level II: 5+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or process control experience required. Level III:  7+ years required. Level II: 5+ years of quality engineering experience required. Level III:  7+ years required.Previous experience in machining and castings strongly preferred.Ability to understand principals of AS9100, ISO-9000/2000 and/or TS-16949.Ability to understand principals of Continuous Improvement Methodologies (6 Sigma, Lean Mfg. etc.).
