Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered interior and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe, and our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as an improvement to safety by a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles in the commercial, government, and military marketplace. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are looking for an experienced team player to join our Supplier Quality group. The **Supplier Quality Engineer** plays a key role in monitoring and managing suppliers and their performance by collecting, analyzing, and reviewing supplier quality data. This position looks at defect trends and works on continuous improvement projects.
**Key Responsibilities & Activities Include:**
+ Supports Supplier Qualification and Supplier Quality System Assessments
+ Perform supplier audits at domestic and international supplier locations
+ Monitor supplier's performance, resolve issues identified with suppliers in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
+ Support QC Incoming Inspection by developing quality inspection plans, defining Critical to Quality characteristics
+ Support Material Review Board meetings related to supplier rejections or discrepancies
+ Facilitate root cause analysis and perform corrective actions
+ Review Supplier AS9102 First Article Reports, provide supplier support and training on preferred format
+ Work with supplier on problem resolution, root cause analysis using quality tools and techniques
**Desired Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience:**
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Material Science, Computer Science, or similar), Or equivalent work experience
+ Experienced external auditor on any of the following standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF or ISO 13485
+ Skilled or Certified on Continuous Improvement tools (Lean or 6 Sigma certified preferred)
+ ASQ-CQE certification, preferred
+ Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed
+ Ability to interpret drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
+ Understanding of various machining processes
