KONI is recognised globally as an intelligent company developing suspension solutions unique for every application. KONI was founded in 1857 by A. de Koning in Oud-Beijerland, the Netherlands, initially making leather equipment for horses. The company name “KONI” was established in 1928, with KONI first making friction type shock absorbers in 1932. In 1945, KONI began development of the world’s first adjustable hydraulic telescopic type shock absorber for cars and trucks, a product style which remains synonymous with KONI.

 

Known for a proud and successful history in motor sports, KONI has and continues to work with leading teams across rally and racing, including winning Grand Prix World Championships, to solve suspension problems and develop new innovative technologies. KONI also has a long history of working with companies to develop Original Equipment (O.E.) applications which transform vehicle driving quality and experiences.

To expand our team R& D we are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer.

 

Essential Responsibilities

As Supplier Quality Engineer you act as an intermediary regarding quality-related matters between KONI and its damper parts suppliers in close relation with its own Quality Department and with the departments; Purchasing, Procurement, Engineering and Research & Development.

 

Your responsibilities are:

Updating, maintaining and rolling out the KONI Supplier Quality Manual. The management and follow-up (both internal and external) of the initial sample inspection procedure (PPAP / ISIR / FAI) for new parts and new suppliers. Monitoring the conformity of delivered parts through management of incoming goods inspections. Managing and follow-up the rejection and warranty claim procedures in case of non-conform parts. Follow-up on 8D reports and open actions. Visiting and auditing (PCPA / VDA) of suppliers at the relevant production locations in The Netherlands and abroad. Identify the possible risks, wastes and opportunities. Reporting the findings to the KONI Management as well as to the suppliers. Requesting and following up supplier action plans with the aim of achieving the intended improvements. Performing supplier data analysis and reporting results internally. Conducting and monitoring supplier evaluations and reporting these to the KONI Management and to the suppliers.Taking part in new product development and product / part improvement projects. Position Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred) or Business Related disciplines;3-7 years of experience in the Quality field including Supplier Quality Engineering in a development & manufacturing environment, preferably in Automotive or Railway industry;Experience with Supplier Management methodologies is a must, including approval/qualification of new suppliers/parts using PPAP (Production Parts Approval Plan);Beneficial will be working knowledge of ISO9001/TS16949 framework, including associated requirements, such as: Design and Process FMEA, PPAP, and Control;Affinity in Quality processes and problem solving techniques/tools (SCAR, Global 8D, DMAIC);Experience  in descriptive/inferential statistics and statistical tools is welcome.(capability studies, GD&T, Gage R&R, Statistical Process Control - SPC, Design of Experiments - DOE);Essential to have familiarity with suppliers audits;Experience operating in a Lean manufacturing environment and associated techniques/tools (cell manufacturing, standard work, 5S) Good to have;Presentation and project management skills;Excellent technical communication skills (written and verbal);People and leadership skills to interface with multiple internal functions and external parties (suppliers, contract manufacturers);Availability to domestic and international travel (10-20%);Fluent EnglishEagerness to learn, enthusiasm and curiosityProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OutlookDetail oriented and analytic mindset
