Role Overview:


This individual contributor Supplier Quality Engineer cross-functional position is the primary plant interface between external suppliers, internal customers, and functional peers with an emphasis on supplier development. 

On a Typical Day You Will:

Provide floor support for day-to-day quality issues or concerns.

Manage supplier performance that affects key metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, and scheduling disruption.

Be accountable for resolving systemic supplier quality and delivery problems to prevent production & project interruptions; ensuring high-quality products. 

Support supply chain management activities, supply chain optimization, and process improvement initiatives, including participation and action in programs aimed for new product introduction or new equipment/factory projects.

Manage supplier parts and part KPI’s through Process Certification, PPAP, and 8-D Corrective Action process through the local continuous improvement’s tools and culture.

What You Will Need to be Successful

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in supply chain management, quality engineering, or other technical disciplines

Minimum of 1 year of experience in an engineer and/or quality role

Professional writing, presentation, and communication skills to work with supply base top executives in improving product quality

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Leadership skills and be a successful “change agent” and possess ability to interact successfully with all levels of supplier’s Sr. Management and factory direct labor personnel

Program management skills and experience in design change implementation, design for sourcing, and strategic sourcing projects

Demonstrated ability to drive teamwork between groups and across functional teams

Knowledge on ISO9001

Extensive knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, Containment Plans, GD&T, APQP, PPAP, RRCA, Gage R&R, SPC, Data Analysis

Full capability with parts and supplier qualification tools

Problem-solving skills to prioritize supplier performance improvement

Ability to learn technical information quickly and application to a specific product problem

Leveraging broad know-how of operations/manufacturing processes to improve quality and cost

Demonstrated knowledge of, or experience with lean manufacturing systems or Six Sigma

Knowledge of ERP configuration, manufacturing processes, and systems

Proven ability to analyze data

Proficient in Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Preferred Qualifications:

MS degree preferred
