Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality in KONE Products and Services to maximize the value for KONE. This role applies supplier quality management processes, tools and resources to the supplier selection, qualification, development and management process in order to achieve the expected level of quality and service in North America.
Job Duties
Monitoring of quality performance of existing assigned suppliers, validation of the measurements, report identified corrective actions and follow-up using SQM process and quality tools (SPC/FMEA/QCP, …)
Conduct supplier audits, report identified corrective actions and follow-up using SQM process and quality tools
New potential supplier selection and qualification: closely collaborate with Sourcing to ensure that product/process quality, technical and business requirements are defined for new potential supplier selection and assess potential supplier’s gaps vs KONE requirements (gap analysis, pre-auditing etc) within a cross-functional team. Manage quality requirements and documentation through supplier qualification process.
Participate in supplier negotiations as required to ensure supplier quality commitment. Ensure that Quality Annex is integrated in supplier agreement/s (in line with KONE business requirements and template) and regularly updated
Lead supplier development initiatives for assigned suppliers as needed
Ensure compliance and adherence to KONE sourcing (KSO) policies/ procedures and with quality, safety and environmental standards
Hiring Requirements
Technical or Business (BS / BA) degree. Master's degree in quality management is an asset.
Min 3 years’ experience in quality / supplier quality role
Proven problem solving / project management skills
Leadership and proven ability to work in cross-functional team
Fluent communication skills in English, other languages are an asset
Ability to proactively communicate/collaborate with different levels and functions in the organization
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Quality system knowledge (ISO 9000&14000)
Auditing skills (production and Quality/Environmental System audit)
Quality tools knowledge (SPC/FMEA/QCP, 6-Sigma, Lean manufacturing, etc). 6-Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification is as asset
Data management skills (SAP ERP knowledge an asset)
High energy/integrity, proactive engagement
The hiring range for this role is $84,400.00 to $116,050.00 USD. The compensation package offered will depend on the candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
