Supplier Quality Engineer
The Supplier Quality Engineer leads and supports daily supplier management activities. Working with cross functional teams to resolve any supplier related concerns they will also take the lead on the Material Review Board (MRB), Change Review Board (CRB) activities and quality control.

General Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

Manage supplier quality issues and drive investigation of defects and non-conformities in supplied products. Work closely with suppliers and internal cross functional teams to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve issues promptly.

Verify and assure suppliers’ effective containment action, root cause analysis, and corrective actions/preventive actions

Work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, engineering and production to communicate supplier quality requirements and address issues related to supplier performance.

Collaborate with suppliers to establish and communicate quality requirements, specifications, and standards. Ensure suppliers understand and comply with these quality expectations.

Conduct regular audits at supplier facilities to assess product quality, manufacturing processes, and compliance with quality standards. Identify and address deviations from specifications.

Maintain accurate records of supplier evaluations, inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Ensure all relevant documentation, such as quality certificates, is up-to-date and well-organized.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier quality metrics.

Track supplier performance against these KPIs and develop reports to communicate trends and improvements.

Evaluate potential suppliers to assess their capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to industry standards. Make recommendations for supplier selection based on quality criteria.

Experience / Qualifications

A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience

Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards, such as ISO/TS 16949 and VDA6

Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

Strong organisation, planning and time management skills to achieve results

Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and external customers.
