As a Supplier Quality Manager you will oversee Supply base Quality management ensuring external suppliers are qualified, purchased products and services meet specifications, regulations, and quality standards. In this role, you will have direct reports and will work directly with the plant manufacturing, quality, and production control teams driving plant containments, fast response to supplier issues, managing supplier corrective action response to issues at plant, supporting change management, and driving communication to our supplier quality engineering teams supporting quality and program management for production builds.
What You’ll Do
Develop, implement, and maintain methods of tracking supplier quality performance to drive improvement.
Develop and lead the Supplier qualification, development, and performance management process.
Manage RMA process, onsite rework, and containments to ensure no nonconforming parts reach the manufacturing line.
Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
Management of the Supplier Quality Engineers for fast response to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short term and long-term countermeasures.
Identify opportunities to qualify products and processes efficiently and effectively, constantly looking for improvements by driving projects or kaizen events to improve quality metrics.
Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.
Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
Stay current on developments in industrial quality standards, regulations, and new supplier quality technologies and methodologies.
Provide hands on support to manufacturing departments.

Skills/Experience We’re Looking For
Strong knowledge of Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment.
Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation, and conflict resolution skills.
Broad knowledge of theory and principles of statistics and statistical process control.
Strong knowledge and application of lean principles.
Understanding of ISO9001 quality systems and requirements.
Knowledge of APQP methodology required, including PPAP, FMEA, GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility), Process Validation, and Control Plans.
Experience in conducting risk assessments and applying a risk-based approach to production and processes.
Required Qualifications
BS in Engineering or a related field required; advanced degree or professional manufacturing certification(s) is a plus.
5+ years quality leadership experience in a manufacturing organization.
Certification by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is desired.
Six Sigma black belt or green belt certification a plus
