Supplier Quality Manager

This position will be located at the PACCAR St. Therese Plant in Montreal, Canada.

Job Functions / Responsibilities Identify, assess, and develop new PACCAR suppliers Function as a Quality liaison with suppliers regarding Quality issues Lead suppliers through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new product introduction Work closely with assigned suppliers to assure understanding and compliance with PACCAR Supplier Quality Requirements Manual (SQRM) and guidelines. Work closely and effectively with suppliers to improve overall performance to PACCAR, including the identification, communication, documentation, and follow-up of corrective actions, predictive performance models, and development needs Perform evaluations of supplier’s capabilities in meeting PACCAR’s quality requirements. Interface with North American, Mexican and European Purchasing, Engineering, Materials, Plant Operations, and Suppliers on current quality issues. Conduct Supplier Readiness Reviews (SRRs) at new supplier locations. Assist with supplier part verification submission, tracking, and reporting (PPAP process). Support timely and comprehensive reporting of assigned Supplier Quality status. Approximately 20-30% travel depending on business conditions.  Skills / Competencies Quality, manufacturing, engineering or purchasing experience. Demonstrated problem solving ability gained through 3 - 4 years of progressively complex quality situations (experience in related fields are potential substitutes). Proficient in quality methods used to achieve best in class product and process performance (e.g., statistical problem solving and process capability analysis, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Communication in Spanish language is a plus. Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Excellent organization and interpersonal skills. Project Management experience preferred. Ability to manage conflict across functional and corporate boundaries; effective problem solver. Working knowledge of and ability to read, understand, and interpret GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications, and translate into part and process requirements. Demonstrated ability to facilitate team efforts and work under minimal supervision. Automotive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) expertise. Education and Certifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or other technical discipline required. Applicants with a four-year degree in a non-engineering or technical discipline will be considered if they possess at least five years’ experience in a related field. Advanced Certification preferred (PE, CQE, CQA, CMQ) Six Sigma / Lean / Green belt Training (or willingness to complete training) Must possess PC based computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products Additional Job Board Information
