Supplier Support Engineer
Job Description + Initiate/support situation appraisal and analysis of a supplier crisis on a specific part or assembly process (Tooling/Equipment Spec/Part Drawing Spec or Evaluation/OEE/Volume Assessment/SAP development, etc.) + Coordinate and support implementation of immediate corrective action plans (short-term and long-term) at critical suppliers. + Support communication, interaction, and summary reviews with suppliers and Management. + Support critical proactive projects (Capacity Management/Minimum Process Requirements/Part Non-Conformances, Shutdown, etc.) + Complete reporting and onsite visit activity for root cause analysis/countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems with attention to closure speed and effectiveness. + Engage in continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for areas of responsibility (Capacity and Special projects) to ensure associate success. Hard Skills + Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent related experience + 2-8 years of relevant engineering experience + Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, casting, machining, etc.) + Experience within the manufacturing facility + Ability to obtain a passport for potential travel to Europe Work Environment + You will need to travel up to 50% of the time, mostly within the US, with potential travel to Europe. + Be prepared to work in an open office environment, at a supplier's operations, or virtually. + You may need to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts on a limited basis to support on-site supplier crises and work up to 5-15 additional hours each week as needed.
