Job Description
We are searching for a dedicated Supplier Support Engineer to join our team in Burlington, NC. The ideal candidate will help advance our ability to improve supply chain stability with a single and efficient mindset. This role is crucial in maintaining strong delivery characteristics, supporting smooth production operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position involves leading supplier crisis mitigation, managing supplier performance, and participating in broad scope projects under limited supervision.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with suppliers and other business units to achieve supplier stability.Minimize supplier touchpoints through optimizing activities.Clearly summarize each supplier situation to communicate the issue, impact, root cause, and countermeasures.Initiate and support situation appraisal and analysis of supplier crises on specific parts or assembly processes.Coordinate and support the implementation of immediate corrective action plans at critical suppliers.Support communication, interaction, and summary reviews with suppliers and management.Support critical proactive projects such as capacity management, minimum process requirements, part non-conformances, and shutdowns.Complete reporting and onsite visit activities for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.Engage in continuous improvement through the Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) cycle for areas of responsibility.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent related experience.2-8 years of relevant engineering experience.Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, casting, and machining.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience within a manufacturing facility.Strong supplier experience.Good communication skills.Ability to influence teams.Self-motivated and disciplined.Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, with most travel within the US and occasional travel to Europe.Ability to obtain a passport.Work Environment
This role requires a strong sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk events. You will need the ability to travel at a moment's notice to confirm supplier situations, work in an open office environment, at supplier operations, or conduct business virtually. The position may also require working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts on a limited basis to support on-site supplier crises, and the ability to work up to 5-15 hours of overtime each week as needed.
