The Supply Chain and Production Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between procurement activities and production scheduling, specifically for truck upfit operations. This role ensures the alignment of material availability with production timelines to enhance operational efficiency. The position requires proficiency in SAP to manage both material planning and production scheduling functions, ensuring optimal use of resources and on-time delivery. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Work as a team with colleagues in Sales, Services, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Third Parties to develop and execute the Production Plan and Schedule to best meet Customer Requests.

 

Material Planning:

 

Manage the demand planning within SAP and replenishment of materials needed for production, ensuring timely ordering and delivery. Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Utilize SAP for forecasting and managing material needs based on production schedules based on the business needs. Collaborate with suppliers and the procurement team to resolve material availability issues and improve supplier performance.

 

Production Scheduling:

 

Develop and update production schedules for truck upfit operations, coordinating with production teams to ensure smooth workflow. Monitor production schedule alignment with 3rd party contract manufactures and internally to ensure smooth upfit of Hiab Equipment meeting customer expectations. Monitor progress against the production schedule and make necessary adjustments to address material delays or production disruptions. Use SAP & other internal systems to track production milestones and ensure timely completion of projects. Optimize scheduling to minimize downtime and align with customer delivery expectations.

 

Cross-functional Coordination:

 

Act as the central point of contact between procurement and production teams, ensuring alignment on material needs and scheduling priorities. Lead regular meetings to review schedules, address any issues, and maintain open communication with suppliers and internal teams. Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to implement process improvements and drive operational efficiencies and reinforce capacity planning in conjunction with the Installations team.  Conduct Root-cause analysis for production issues, and propose recommendations for improvements to mitigate future risk of recurrence.

 

Reporting & Analysis:

 

Generate reports on material usage, production output, and inventory levels. Analyze SAP data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize both material planning and production scheduling. Provide regular updates to management on key performance indicators, including on-time material delivery and production adherence. Liaise with Snr Manager Installations on production efficiencies reporting and usage of production tracking tools and systems (Andon). What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

 

Minimum 2 Year degree in Business Management or similar field Preferred 4 Year degree in Business Management or similar field

 

Working experience:

 

2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing and sales environment Google Office Suite ERP (SAP) system experience SIOP experience 

 

Skills and competencies:

 

Google Office Suite SAP ERP System “Business” Math Skills; Basic, Statistics
