Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Analyst will assist the Supply Chain Department in various projects and initiatives.

What You Will Do:
Acts as the Medical Center representative with the group purchasing organizations in which the Medical Center holds membership and communicates activity to Supply Chain Director. Coordinates contracting efforts for supplies, equipment, and service and also exhibits proficiency with group purchasing organization website tools, when appropriate. Analyzes, negotiates, and works in conjunction with Supply Chain Project Coordinators and the Surgical Services Inventory Analyst to secure both local and group purchasing organizations contracts. Negotiates best method and cost for freight. Demonstrates ability to take the initiative and recommend new programs, processes and seek opportunities to lower hospital supply expenses under the guidance of the Supply Chain. Coordinates the trial of new products/equipment with Supply Chain Project Coordinators and the Surgical Services Inventory Analyst. Works with Supply Chain Project Coordinators and the Surgical Services Inventory Analyst the on the standardization of products/equipment and coordinates this activity with the other. Coordinates the supply acquisition process for the Medical Center, giving consideration to legal, safety, cost and environmental concerns. Develops the most suitable purchasing arrangement for commodities, including blanket orders, standing orders and vendor stocking arrangements. Processes and follows-up on purchase orders, expedites deliveries and resolves problems as necessary. Works with Accounts Payable, Supply Chain Analyst 2 and the Surgical Services Inventory to correct discrepant invoices. Coordinates notification, return and credit of all returned supplies/equipment for designated departments. Maintains a professional relationship with vendors regarding new and current products, services, and opportunities for improvement. Assists in coordinating the activities of vendors throughout the Medical Center to ensure that they are following Firelands’ policy. Monitors supply cost and submit changes for patient charge accuracy. Utilizes the MMIS system to prepare and analyze detailed supply reports as appropriate and maintains the item and vendor files. Reviews and edits vendors for EDI transactions. Works with departments on daily orders, substitutions and emergency orders. Responsible for establishing, maintaining and revising recordkeeping and filing systems for the Supply Chain Department. Classifies, sorts and files correspondences, records and other documents. Works closely with Supply Chain Project Coordinator, Surgical Services Inventory Analyst and the Distribution Supervisor on storeroom and Surgical Services inventory. Helps coverage in the storeroom and receiving dock when necessary. Assists Surgical Services Inventory Analyst with morning orders, stocking special order items and implants. Works within the PAR program to assist the Distribution Supervisor with troubleshooting issues. Coordinates notification, return and credit of all Manufacturer recalls. Perform year-end inventory duties as assigned.Inventory Control:
Maintains appropriate levels of assigned stock in main and OR storerooms, prepares quotations and procures when inventory levels indicate. Monitors stock for trends in usage and lead time. Makes recommendations for inventory additions, deletions, substitutions based on buying patterns of departments. Evaluates and maintains par level and re-order points for main and OR storeroom stock. Determines excess and obsolete inventory and works with Department Directors, Distribution Supervisor, Surgical Services Inventory Analyst and Supply Chain Project Coordinators to reduce or eliminate. Coordinates physical inventory and cycle counts in the main and OR storeroom with assistance from Supply Chain Project Coordinators and Surgical Services Inventory Analyst. Assists in researching and reconciling any variance between physical counts and system counts. Run MMIS reports to conduct cycle counts in conjunction with the main and OR storeroom.What You Will Need:
Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree or Healthcare supply chain experience preferred or 0-3 years of related experience. Proficient in MS Excel and MS-Office suite Effectively use interpersonal skills using leadership, tact, patience, and courtesy to maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with others. Ability to maintain neat and orderly files, records and reports. Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
