Supply Chain Analyst
We are looking for a Supply Chain Analyst in our Dekalb, IL location.

The Role:

The Supply Chain Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of CST Industries’ evolving supply chain operations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for extracting and analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain to support the entire organization. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, experience with a variety of systems and data tools, and the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels within the organization. 

Supply chain analyst responsibilities.

Assist in strategic sourcing activities, including supplier identification, request for proposal (RFP) development, and bid analysis.

 

Conduct analysis and evaluate supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction using a variety of software tools and system resources.

 

Support the developing SIOP process by improving, organizing, and pulling data while consolidating information and presenting actionable findings to enhance supply chain and operations initiatives.

 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, such as inventory optimization, demand forecasting, and supplier management.

 

Investigates the underlying causes of supply chain issues or disruptions to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence both internally and with external supply partners.

 

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track supply chain performance and identify areas of concern or improvement.

 

Identify instances of maverick spending, where purchases are made outside of established procurement processes or contracts. Analyze the root causes of maverick spending and implement measures to increase compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

 

Generate reports and present findings to stakeholders, including senior management, to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Travel to other CST facilities up to 15-20% as needed.

Education and qualifications:

Minimum of an associate’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent discipline 5 years of experience as a supply chain analyst or in a similar analytical role, preferably in a fast-paced, multi-site manufacturing organization. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to make sound business decisions. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) to extract, manipulate, and visualize data to present to key decision-makers. Strong experience in Microsoft Excel: v-lookups, pivot tables, charts, queries, data analysis Solid understanding of supply chain management concepts, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and supplier relationship management. Proficiency in using supply chain management systems and tools (e.g., ERP, WMS) to support analysis and decision-making. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) and experience in applying them to drive process optimization. Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in data analysis. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, fostering strong relationships and driving consensus among stakeholders.
