**What you will do**
**Supply Chain Engineer**
As Supply Chain Engineer this position will join a team of Supply Chain and Logistics professionals located at Kings Mountain Operations (KMO) BIW cab factory. This position will be responsible for overseeing activities related to the supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order maximize the process efficiency and productivity. A Supply Chain Engineer plans, designs, and optimizes the supply chain. This includes all the business processes that a product undergoes until it arrives at the end customer.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
• Design, implementation, and optimization of the supply chain
• Design and implement the complete internal logistic flow from the receiving dock to the line
• Define manpower and equipment requirement, taking into consideration the cost reduction and productivity targets for logistics
• Design and implement the logistic areas’ layouts according to the plant master plan
• Support the design and implementation of returnable packaging solutions for truck parts and components
• Support new product introductions by ensuring parts have a packaging solution prior to release of the new product feature
• Maintain project timelines, main interface with packaging suppliers, component suppliers purchasing, and factory needs
• Participate in and/or lead Kaizen events to improve operations, reduce costs, and maximize productivity through the Value Stream Mapping methodology
• Support the implementation of the VPS (Continuous Improvement) Logistics Pillar using the Volvo Operations Concept
• Expert and/or Key User in VPS (Continuous Improvement) tools
• Bring innovation and creativity to the logistics processes
• Focus on 5S, safety and infrastructure improvements as it relates to the production and warehouse environment
• Provide training as needed to other team members
• Fulfilment of financial and operational key supply chain KPI’s
• Work closely with cross-functional team members to ensure good communication between engineering and the shop floor
**Who are you?**
**Preferred Experience and Knowledge**
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and Logistics required
• 2 years’ experience in the Manufacturing, Engineering or Logistics environment
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain operations and best practices
• Experience working in cross-functional and multicultural team
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and automotive transportation industry preferred
• Demonstrated lean manufacturing experience
**Necessary Technical/Functional/Language Skills**
• Ability to communicate effectively within a local and international environment
• Ideal candidate will have an intrapreneurship spirt and the ability to work independently
• Excellent analytical, critical and creative thinking, judgment, time management, and problem solving skills
• Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and unit operations
• Must be proficient in the MS Office
• Strong understanding of the Volvo Group Businesses is a preferred
