Job Description
The Supply Chain intern will work primarily out of our Morristown, TN distribution facility which is the central point of operations for order fulfillment. This site not only manages FTL unloading, storage and loading but has a significant amount of volume in LTL and parcel handling. As the .com and direct to consumer market has grown, so has our need for technological advancement. We are seeking an innovative self-starter to identify and test solutions to improve safety, quality and efficiency in our operations. This candidate will assess, and process map the current organization and structure and identify quick wins in the existing process by engineering out potential risks. The candidate will also begin researching and building a strategy for long-term solutions around case packing, automated storage and retrieval systems and any other high-risk categories where technological advancement can be applied to deliver improved results.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing products. Help maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular stock checks and updating records during the process mapping exercise. Support the team in organizing and maintaining the warehouse layout for optimal efficiency. Participate in the loading and unloading of shipments. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP, Supply Chain.
Job Requirements
Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in logistics, supply chain management, engineering or a related field. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. Computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Physical ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
