What you will do

About Us: In October 2024, the Kings Mountain truck cab production plant became part of the Volvo Group, joining the GTO North America Manufacturing organization. KMO is responsible for the production and quality assurance of all Mack Truck cabs for the North American market.


This is a senior level position responsible for leading the runtime, continuous improvement & development of the Kings Mountain Operations (KMO) plant Logistics.  Responsible for all Supply Chain activities to ensure cost effective flow in a safe work environment. 
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures through proper direction, coaching, control, coordination and delegation that all departmental policies, programs, and assignments are carried out effectively to attain the desired results in Planning--Scheduling, Material Control, Inventory, Internal and Inbound flows and 3PL management. Develops and manages the Logistics budget for KMO. Lead all logistics preparation and changes on KMO product & industrial projects. Coach Logistics Engineering in term of efficiency & reliable processes to guarantee the Material Availability @ Point Of Use (MA@POU). Implement new & improve current Supply Chain flow & processes (sourcing board input, line moving …). Manages a team of professionals, including Logistics managers, supervisors, planners, and employees whom all support the internal logistics flows & processes for KMO. Develop Volvo Production Systems (VPS) mindset in Logistics & Support Logistics VPS owner Manage activities with Logistics Team & Logistics Engineering in order to improve POU by implementing X-Functional KAIZEN & Root Cause Analysis. Define performance metrics of Logistics Process: Receiving/Warehousing, Picking & Delivery, Repacking, Transporting, Kitting using PFEP tool (Plan For Every Part). Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs & control Fleet Management Follow up, document and communicate agreed ‘Logistics Operations KPI/PI’s’, analyze and initiate corrective actions on deviations from target Monitor physical Supply Chain processes, such as workflow, cycle time & system flows. Responsible to participate Local / Regional / Global networks to contribute to the Process & System Development Who are you?

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
           

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business field 10 years’ experience in the Manufacturing, Engineering or Logistics environment

 
SKILLS:
 

In Depth Supply Chain knowledge Problem Solver with ability to think creatively & critically Capacity to work with technical drawings & conceptualize manufacturing solutions Strong leadership, time management, planning, organization, analytical & negotiation skills
