SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Manager leads and oversees supervisors responsible for managing teams across material handling, production control, inventory management, receiving, production planning and shipping functions. This role ensures efficient operations by guiding supervisors to meet service level targets like on-time delivery (OTD) and inventory accuracy. The Supply Chain Manager focuses on strategic planning, fostering cross-departmental collaboration, and implementing best practices to optimize supply chain performance. By developing and supporting supervisors, this position drives team accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and corporate standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Leadership & Strategy: Provide strategic guidance to supervisors overseeing material handling, production control, inventory, receiving, and shipping. Set department goals, coach supervisors to strengthen leadership capabilities, and ensure team accountability and performance.
+ Process Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Drive inventory optimization through turn rate management, re-order points, and obsolete/slow-moving inventory reduction.
+ Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory tracking via ERP systems, cycle counts, and root cause analysis to resolve discrepancies. Oversee work-in-process, hardware, and finished goods inventory, maintaining data integrity and minimizing waste.
+ Operational Excellence: Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and stockout rates. Address production bottlenecks, align workflows across departments, and standardize processes to improve outcomes.
+ Production Planning: Collaborate with the Production Planner to maintain accurate schedules, optimize capacity, and resolve inventory shortages affecting production. Support accurate ERP data maintenance and master scheduling.
+ Reporting & Controls: Oversee month-end inventory reporting, assist finance with closing activities, and analyze transactions to identify and resolve process deficiencies.
+ Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety through audits, hazard identification, and enforcement of safety protocols. Manage contracts for waste solutions, recycling, and site-specific needs.
+ Team Development: Lead all aspects of performance management, including hiring, training, evaluations, and corrective actions as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ BA/BS in Business or Operations Management
+ 5-10 years of inventory analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
+ Detail oriented, with exceptional organizational skills
+ Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
+ Demonstrated ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner
+ Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
+ Excellent customer service skills building effective cross-function partnerships
+ Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
