Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Production Planner to lead strategic and tactical activities in the manufacturing of high-precision components for the aerospace industry. In this role, you will establish and manage forecasts and detailed schedules to ensure timely shipping in alignment with customer requirements and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Forecasting and Scheduling: Develop, publish, and maintain production schedules and forecasts while balancing inventory, resources, and capacity to meet customer demands.
+ Sales Order Management: Oversee the status of sales orders and ensure adherence to on-dock dates throughout all phases of manufacturing and shipping.
+ Inventory Control: Track all levels of inventory for assigned business units, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
+ MRP Review: Analyze MRP requirements and process applicable action (exception) messages for the assigned product family.
+ Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports to support production schedules and strategic inventory plans.
+ Work Order Generation: Create work order packages as required and ensure timely delivery to the appropriate departments or work cells.
+ Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments (quality, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, shipping, contracts, etc.) to ensure alignment on priorities and business objectives.
+ Meeting Participation: Attend MRB review meetings as required.
+ Mandatory Overtime: Be prepared to work overtime as needed to support on-time delivery and meet sales targets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ 3-5 years of experience as a planner in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions.
+ Experience in master scheduling production lines and level loading.
+ Ability to analyze materials requirements and understand multi-level component builds (40-50 parts per unit).
+ Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
+ Thorough knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
+ Experience writing macros; VBA macros is a big plus.
