As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., you will lead and execute supply chain improvement projects for Earthmoving products. Your role will involve leading process improvement projects and leveraging data analytics to enhance supply chain resiliency, identifying and implementing integrated solutions, and fostering partnerships to drive continuous improvement. Preferred candidates will have experience in supply chain management, logistics, supplier management, operations, or as an NPI leader, along with Six Sigma expertise.

What You Will Do:

Identify, define, and implement integrated supply chain solutions and performance improvements.Establish effective linkages, partnerships, and best practices with business partners and internal functions.Develop data analytics solutions using supply chain and supplier performance data to identify gaps and improve performance.Lead supply resiliency and source strategy process improvement projects with partner organizations to prevent supply chain interruptions.Investigate and incorporate industry benchmarks, metrics, and best practices to develop optimal supply chains for suppliers and/or product sets.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):                                                     

Degree/Experience: bachelor’s degree in an engineering, technical or business curriculum OR varied experience in supply chain management, purchasing, engineering, New Product Introduction/Development, or operations.Project Administration: Proven experience in managing and leading projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful completion.Conflict Management: Strong skills in identifying, addressing, and resolving conflicts within teams and with external partners to maintain a productive work environment.Vendor/Supplier Management: Demonstrated ability to manage vendor and supplier relationships, including negotiation, performance evaluation, and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.Supply Chain Management: Extensive knowledge and experience in supply chain management, including logistics, inventory control, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Top Candidates Will Have:

Analytical Mindset: Ability to leverage data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) to derive insights and drive data-informed decision-making.Continuous Improvement Focus: Demonstrated experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing effective solutions to enhance supply chain performance.
