We have an exciting career opportunity for you to join our Value Chain team as a Supply Chain Planning Engineer! In this role, you will help us realize our vision of providing operations and value chain solutions that transform product strategy into reality. 

 

In this role, you will work with a diverse and geographically dispersed team, spearheading initiatives to enhance agility, flexibility, and visibility across the entire network. You will ensure the delivery of products and services with the utmost safety, quality, velocity, and competitive cost. Additionally, you will achieve results in Inventory Optimization, cost reduction, and maintaining stable order-to-delivery metrics throughout business cycles. 

 

What You Will Do: 

Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) / Demand & Supply planning for Earthmoving product line Work Tools (attachments) and manage/monitor the Order to Delivery (OTD) process. 

Lead and manage the deployment of Work Tool projects centered around OPACC Improvement Agenda (OIA). 

Develop and implement end-to-end value chain solutions in alignment with product strategy. 

Deliver on key metrics like Order Promise Date (OPD), Product Availability & Inventory turns. 

What You Will Have: 

Experience in Supply Chain Management that provides you the ability to lead efforts to develop and implement strategies, practices, and tools for controlling whole processes. 

Project Management experience where you have demonstrated your ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. 

Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment gained through effective experience in Decision Making and Critical Thinking  

The ability to apply knowledge of Problem-Solving approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; approached, tools, problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. 

Top candidates will also bring: 

Experience with Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability. 

Demand Management to effectively sense, predict, plan for, and manage the demand for products and services. 

Experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Inventory / Value Chain Management or Engineering  

CPS, Six Sigma Black Belt, or project management experience 

Previous experience with or exposure to Caterpillar products  

Demonstrated experience as a strong collaborator including interpersonal and negotiation skills driving common value chain processes across multiple facilities within a product. 

APICS, CPIM, or CSCP National Certification 

 

Additional Details  

Preferred Location: Peoria, IL 

Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week of onsite, in office work.  This is NOT a remote role. 

Travel: 20%

Summary Pay Range:

$95,640.00 - $143,520.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
