Defines and develops material strategy. Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products. Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management. Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools. Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements. Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments. Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs. Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Creates/releases requisitions. Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
Responsibilities:
Convey to the Program Manager and IPT a full understanding of the materials acquisition and subcontractor requirements and plan.Lead the IPT and direct functional organizations to achieve material-related program objectives (cost, schedule, quality), while managing material risks and opportunities.Ensure program budget, materials availability, and quality objectives are met by managing and directing the activities of IPT members, the Procurement Team and external suppliers and customers.Develop and communicate material acquisition and subcontractor management objectives and strategies.Manage the Make/Buy processManage material risks and obsolescenceTrack and communicate performance against program financial objectives (budget performance, sales and EBIT)Identify and promptly communicate all deficiencies and deviations from plan and assure and manage actions required to correct them.Represent Supply Chain Management to Customers, Program Management and NG ManagementSupport internal and external audits.Manage material-related proposal activity including line-loss and quotation requests.Proactively manage and monitor supplier performance.Promote a focus on safety and utilize Lean, PES or Six Sigma tools throughout program planning and implementation to emphasize continuous improvement.Basic Qualifications:
LEVEL 2: 3 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 1 Year with MastersLEVEL 3: 6 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 4 Years with MastersExperience with Costpoint or similar ERP systemMS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointProblem solving, and interpersonal skillsProven ability to apply risk-based thinking in support of strategic decision makingMust be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge of production, material control and financial procedures and systems (such as Proposal, Line of Balance, EAC, and Sales Forecasting)Two (2) or more years directly related experience with progressively broader responsibility in Materials Management or related discipline with some degree of leadership experienceFamiliarity with government contracting requirements and complianceSome travel may be required.Salary Range: $63,800.00 - $95,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
