The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.
Responsible for execution of procurement strategies to manage sourcing of quality products, equipment and services. Responsible for assured supply of materials, minimizing inventories, optimum material utilization, and supplier performance while continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk (e.g. on-time, best price, high quality).
Day to Day Responsibilities Assists with Business GSM strategy development. Deploys GSM strategies and plans to make decisions necessary to purchase product or services, aligned with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies Champions and ensures compliance with the Global Buying Policy (GBP) along with utilization of standard Global Supply Management (GSM) source-to-pay (S2P) processes and tools Supervises/manages personnel as assigned (e.g. procurement coordinators, buyers, interns, etc.) Key player for negotiations with suppliers (including contract administration) Manage suppliers, consultants, etc. and interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure delivery of quality materials, components, equipment, and services while ensuring assurance of supply and best cost position scenarios Creates and maintains contractual documents (Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Certificates of Insurance (COI), etc.) Acts as procurement liaison between plants, including materials and quality areas Responsible for all Vendor Add/Maintenance requirements and timely resolution/elimination of invoicing issues
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel required. Travel to Corning locations and supplier sites for site audits, quality resolution, price negotiations, supplier business reviews, supplier development, or project coordination. Travel may also include travel associated with supplier diversity program outreach and training and development.
Experiences/Education - Required Demonstrated decision making, influencing, negotiation, and conflict management/problem solving skills and ability to drive results through others (inside the function and outside the function) Contracting (negotiation, writing, and management) Commodity/Supply Chain expertise At least 5 years managerial experience 5-10 years supply chain experience preferably in sourcing and procurement operations Worked in a manufacturing environment Plus, experience in Biotech or Medical industry Bachelor’s degree

The range for this position is $110,347.00 - $151,728.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
