PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day transactions and documentation of the supply chain operations. Understand inventory and ensure that material resources are consistent with production schedules. Place indirect supply purchase orders. Perform production floor cycle counts. Work to help in the coordination of product shipments to all domestic, government and international customers, and to and from subcontract suppliers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
+ Procurement of Indirect / MRO items
+ Review material requests to ensure they are in line with open work orders / production schedule
+ Daily production floor cycle counts ensuring inventory levels are accurate and discrepancies are identified
+ Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts using root cause analysis, ensuring traceability and accuracy across systems
+ Provide solutions and recommendations to prevent future inventory inaccuracies
+ Manage material flow to ensure continuous availability for production lines without causing downtime (PO expediting)
+ Utilizing shipping software to monitor shipment progress, update tracking information, and address delivery delays.
+ Contact applicable trucking companies for daily pickup of outbound freight and forwarding companies for instructions as needed
+ Learn Luxfer shipping procedures related to hazmat, domestic, international and ITAR regulations. Serve as a back-up when necessary
+ When needed, prepare all export shipment documentation including packing slips, obtain Certificate of Compliance, commercial invoices, electronic export documentation, truck bill of lading or airway bill, etc.
+ Ensure compliance with all safety, security and company policies
+ Generating reports on shipping performance metrics, identifying trends, and proposing corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience are preferred.
Experience:
+ Previous experience in manufacturing environment required
+ Previous experience in supply chain management, material management, inventory control preferred
+ Demonstrated experience with inventory control, manufacturing processes, forecasting, material ordering, and analysis preferred
+ Previous experience shipping and receiving of HAZMAT, international shipments, and finished products
+ Knowledge of all local, state, federal and international shipping regulations, safety standards, labeling requirements, including but not limited to DOT, Hazmat, etc.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, with the ability to perform successfully in fast-paced environment managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines at one time
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with vendors, internal teams and the customers
+ Strong organizational skills, operational follow through, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
+ Demonstrate a high level of competency and adaptability working with computers, software, internet-based applications, and programs beyond standard business systems
+ Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify issues, define problems, establish facts, apply sound judgment and be decisive proposing solutions and resolving discrepancies and problems
+ Knowledge of U.S. Government contracting and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulation Supplement (DFARS), with specific working knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) audit procedures
