About the position

The Supply Chain Supervisor for Shipping and Receiving is responsible for managing processes and procedures in receiving or shipping department. They'll also be responsible for the supervision of both professional and hourly personnel and their related processes.

What you can look forward to as the Supply Chain Supervisor Develop and maintain shipping or receiving processes and procedures and the related information flow / paperwork. Manage the process of creating, handing over and storing the paperwork related to receipts and/or shipments. Assist in the staffing process for the shipping or receiving department. This includes overseeing any 3rd party headcount and/or services. Oversee all process and equipment related to Shipping or Receiving, up to and including material handling equipment and ASRSs (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems). Assist or Lead in Physical Inventories. Lead and initiate development of the functions of the Shipping & Receiving Office to meet department and company goals. Coordinate the inspection of goods received and goods shipped. Supervises the maintenance of records of damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights. Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment. Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Maintains various files and records – both computerized and hard copy files. Supervises administrative employees. Oversee the preparation of bills of lading, receivers, customs documents, and all other documents related to shipping or receiving. Provides training, scheduling, and guidance to shipping and receiving administrative personnel. Works effectively with in-house customers Monitors labor utilization – preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime. Review and approve employee timecards in ADP e-time including vacation, PTO, etc. in a timely manner. Track and train production employees for growth and development by ensuring employees are qualified and trained for assigned position and current level qualifications. Accountable for performance management to include coaching, corrective counseling and disciplinary actions, submitting employee step progressions, performance reviews, and any other ZF documentation relative to employee’s performance. Fosters positive working relationships. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints and other employee relations matters. Maintain current certification in CPR, AED, First Aid, and actively participate as a First Responder. Support and comply with established Company’s Corporate Principles. Understand and comply with IATF - 16949 and ISO-14001 requirements. Other duties as it relates to this position. Your Profile as the Supply Chain Supervisor Bachelor’s degree 4-5+ years of progressive supply chain experience Proven problem-solving and leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills SAP Knowledge Proven leadership abilities In-depth knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within logistics. Familiarity with supply chain data analysis and material flow processes.
