Performs a variety of departmental functions, including inventory control, support and maintain par level systems, issue and fill departmental requisitions, deliver supplies / medication, and provide clerical duties to assist in maintaining the proper quality and quantity of medical and surgical supplies / medication for patient care.

Responsibilities

 

Select and pick stock from the inventory and / or deliver pre-picked low-unit-of-measure (LUM) orders, and distribute supplies / medication to designated locations in a timely and orderly manner.Maintain and care for departmental supplies, medication and equipment and work area.Assist with the maintenance of the proper operation of the par level system to provide for availability of appropriate supply items at the nursing units and the proper charging of these items.Assist in inventory control by maintaining the inventory in a clean and orderly manner.Stock crash carts as assigned.Perform clerical duties, including assistance with the perpetual inventory and record-keeping necessary for the supplies / medication within the Supply department and those on the par level system.Assist with the receiving, inspecting, verifying, accepting or rejecting of all supplies, medication and equipment delivered to DCH Regional Medical Center, and verifies that all paperwork, documentation (such as packing slips, bills of lading, receiving reports, supply requisitions, etc.) are accurately completed and processed.Transport supplies, medication and equipment to and from clinical, ancillary, and support departments as directed.Pick up medical supply / medication orders, and requisitions for delivery to appropriate destinations.

Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee HandbookMust adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self.Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet. Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, with minimum of two years college preferred. Previous experience with storage and distribution of supplies is desirable. Knowledge of medical/surgical supplies is preferred. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.

 

Working Conditions:

Environmental

May be in proximity of pallet jacks and other inventory transport equipment on occasion, so must be aware of surroundings. Working in proximity of printing and binding equipment, and electrical outlets.

 

Physical

H-Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force

frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are

in excess of those for Medium Work

 

.Psychological

Frequent contact with others. Must be able to lead teams and coordinate activities. Must be able to interact with the vendor community and internal customers .Frequent use of electronic mail and face-to-face discussions. Frequent telephone conversations with internal customers.

 

Physical presence onsite is essential.  Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range.  Able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
