Additional duties as assigned Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Picks orders for departments requesting supplies. Packages and delivers supplies to requesting departments. Re-stocks shelves, trays, carts, etc. with incoming supplies. Unloads stock daily from the dock, confirming accuracy with delivery document. Unpack stock and places on shelves in a timely and efficient manner. Safely operate floor jacks (manual and battery) and forklift where appropriate. Regularly check supply par levels, outdates and overstock, adjusting stock as needed. Assists in determining appropriate floor unit PAR levels. Participates in annual inventory counts. Collects and cleans dirty equipment from floor units where appropriate, ensuring its readiness for use. Delivers and sets up equipment for patient care areas where appropriate. Returns equipment to appropriate location. Tracks location of rental equipment and monitors its return to the vendor. Transports equipment to Biomed when appropriate. Enters patient charges for supplies and equipment where appropriate. Verifies accuracy of all supply transactions within MMIS system. Assists with the delivery of linen where appropriate. Maintains a clean and efficient work environment free of hazards. Consistently practices good customer service skills. Answers telephones and intercom promptly and properly. Provide patient and material transport. Performs daily receiving, delivery and returns as directed. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree (or pursuit thereof) preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE If driving a Mercy vehicle is required, applicant must have a driving record that is insurable under Mercyhealth’s insurance coverage guidelines. Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercy’s HR-01 Fleet Safety Policy. Position is subject to annual driving record background checks per Mercy’s HR-01 Fleet Safety Policy. The Technician must maintain a valid driver’s license. Driving a Mercy vehicle is specifically required in the following departments: Janesville Distribution Center Central Distribution at Javon Bea Hospital – Rockton Avenue Central Distribution at Javon Bea Hospital – Riverside Avenue ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills – allowing the Lead to serve as the point-person in working with internal customers in assessing their needs and the most appropriate solution. Ability to effectively use applicable MMIS system – being a super-user of the applicable MMIS system and a high-level resource for both coworkers and internal customers for all aspects of inventory management, receiving and supply-related questions. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Occupational Exposure: Category A -All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access data needed to perform their job duties as directed by the Manager or Director. WORK CONTACT GROUP Supply Chain coworkers and other hospital and clinic staff. SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, and feel; Also, to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch, stand, walk, or sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds from floor to chest, although the vast majority of items weigh less than 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
