Job Description:
The Material Planner will be responsible for the execution of the regional Raw & Packaging Material planning processes. As a passionate and skilled professional bringing in-depth functional knowledge and best practice, they will focus on developing accurate plans for a set of materials to ensure inbound material supply sufficiency and cost/cash optimization over the short-term planning horizon.
They will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to bring end-to-end synchronization in ways of working. This requires end-to-end thinking, excellent communication, and strong partnership with internal and external teams (e.g. Factory Inbound Logistics, Factory Scheduling, External Material Suppliers / Carriers, Finished Goods Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Commercial Operations, Activity Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Quality Assurance.)
What are we looking for?
Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field OR2+ years of experience in Planning (Materials, Supply, Demand, etc.), Inbound Logistics, or Purchasing/ProcurementExperience with an ERP planning systemPreferred:
Planning-related continuing education or professional certifications (APICS/ASCM - CPIM, CSCP, CLTD; IBF - CPF; LSSGB, etc.)Experience with analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)Experience working in large matrixed organizationExperience using SAPWhat will be your key responsibilities?
Material supply continuity and sufficiency to manufacturing sites:
Create raw and pack material Purchase Orders per system-generated Purchase Requisitions Collaborate with suppliers to ensure PO dates & information is always confirmed and accurate in our systems Action system-generated exception messages to manage site production needs and raw/pack material inventory
Manage raw and pack material planning parameters:
Ensure consistent 100% accuracy of SAP raw & pack material planning parameters, in alignment with supplier SLAs and internal process requirementsManage raw and pack material inventory, including safety stock levels, to optimize for cost, cash, service and sustainability
Monitor and action materials inventory health and sufficiency per designated targetsAs a Material Planner, you will own planning and ordering a portion of ~$2.0B in raw and pack material spend to support Mars Pet Nutrition US.
