Supply Planning Specialist

The branch supply planning specialist is the focal point for the central supply planning department and the branch’s sales force, operations, merchandising and marketing departments. The supply planning specialist is responsible for professional and timely communication with internal and external customers. The specialist supports strategies, planning, and related activities to achieve objectives involving purchasing, storage of product, monitoring order fill, and inventory levels and flow. In addition, they will support sales, operational, and category management needs

Essential Duties:

\n\nDetermine root causes and corrective actions for overstocked and at-risk inventory, coordinating with supply planning managers to address with their teams as necessary\nPresent data on behalf of the supply chain team to hold branch sales and ops personnel accountable for reducing at-risk inventory exposure\nReview and act on various analytical reports to mitigate threats to service level within the branch\nReview and act on various analytical reports to mitigate obsolescence risk within the branch\nManage a select group of vendors (generate PO, manage dead inventory, attach new items) specific to the branch and its key customers\nGenerate emergency/recovery PO’s where needed to expedite product needs that would normally be handled through the regular ordering process\nRepresent supply planning as the point of contact for all warehouse and operational issues\nAttend monthly branch sales meeting\nAttend Category Management, marketing, merchandising meeting\nOther duties as assigned\n\n

Qualifications:

\n\nBachelor's degree from college or university; or 5 years related experience - equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered\nClarity or E3 Trim Purchasing Experience or equivalent preferred\nDemonstrated ability to use Excel and other Office tools, as well as perform moderate to advanced mathematical calculations relating to inventory, is required\nAbility to write routine reports and correspondence as well as to speak effectively before groups of stakeholders\nMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays\nMust have excellent communication skills both written and verbal\nSome traveling will be required\nFamiliarity with local foodservice suppliers and distributors in the local market is preferred\n\n
