Support Engineer
The Support Engineer will function as a member of the Software Engineering Team, and will collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot, diagnose and ultimately resolve user-facing software issues. + Work with system vendors and technology partners to install and configure equipment and software, solve system problems, and implement solutions and upgrades. + Configure, install, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server based systems and server software, including Microsoft SQL Server + Installs and tests new systems and technical infrastructure for the station. + Installs and maintains the IT network, switches, data backups, workstations, servers, and printers. + Cable, connect, and configure technical infrastructure equipment for the station. + Minimizes service interruptions at times of equipment and/or system failure by rapidly identifying and implementing solutions. + Manage and assist users with e-mail and desktop support. + Administer antivirus and similar support systems. + Manage user accounts through Active Directory. + Interprets and implements instructions and requests from other station personnel. + Communicates with members of the engineering team and other teams to effectively resolve equipment and system issues. + Interface with Nexstar Network, Security and Systems teams. + Assist in maintaining all station broadcast equipment within the facility. + Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements & Skills : + Technical degree in Information Systems, Broadcasting, or a related field, or have an equivalent combination of education and demonstrable experience. + SBE and Microsoft certification preferred. + Minimum three years’ experience with Windows Server environments + Knowledge of current television broadcast systems including AP ENPS and Bitcentral experience a plus + Networking support of various LAN/WAN devices and systems + Proficiency with computers, IP based telephony, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment + Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment + Ability to meet deadline, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. + Ability to respond to trouble calls in a 24×7 environment (including nights, weekends, holidays as needed) + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record + Fluency in English + Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
