Support Engineer III
Job Title: Support Engineer Location: Onsite, Sunnyvale, CA Pay Range: $45/hr. Contract Length: 11 Months Our client is seeking a Support Engineer to join their team. As a Support Engineer, we are looking for engineers who can use scripting and programming skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues across our array of products. You will own production system software deployments and ongoing software upgrades for our backend services. Support engineers troubleshoot, debug, evaluate, and resolve computer-identified alarms, perform software deployments and migrations, host management, and automate routine operational tasks. The position requires a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills and includes a mix of on-call and operational tasks and may involve small-project software development work **Top 3 Skills:** 1. Troubleshooting and Debugging Technical Systems 2. Proficiency in Scripting Languages (Python, Bash, etc.) 3. Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills **What’s the Job?** • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more services and lead cross-team planning efforts. • Drive operational efficiency through the development of SLAs, metrics, monitoring systems, procedures, tools, and documentation. • Participate in design reviews to mitigate support risks and improve the change management life cycle. • Diagnosing and resolving complex support issues impact system performance and availability. • Develop automation tools to streamline daily administrative tasks and achieve human-free operations. **What’s Needed?** • 3+ years of software development or 4+ years of technical support experience. • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems in a Unix/Linux environment. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. • Solid understanding of networking concepts including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking. • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
