The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is comprised of 2,000 employees and with an annual operating budget of over $1 billion is one of the largest organizations of its kind committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City. Collaborating with other public agencies and not-for-profit partners, DHS works to prevent homelessness before it occurs, reduce street homelessness, and assist New Yorkers to transition from shelter into appropriate permanent housing. DHS is responsible for management of over 200 facilities, which mainly are individual and family shelters used as overnight residences for over 38,000 adults and children. DHS’s portfolio covers approximately 4M square feet. The Client Responsibility Office is a highly specialized unit within the Department of Homeless. The unit helps the agency meet its core mission of supporting clients in moving from shelter to permanency and ensures that DHS contracted providers and clients understand and are held accountable to expectations of the Agency. The Department of Homeless Services is recruiting for one (1) Clerical Associate-III who will: - Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and time sensitive tracking of all contractual components. - Monitor time sensitive requests from Executive Staff and prepare correspondence to ensure the orderly flow of information from the Program Administrators’ office to DHS Executive Staff. - Answer and respond to calls, inquiries, and Ombudsman Correspondences. Perform data entry into related databases to track shelter clients and generate reports/case notes in CARES. - Schedule Client Conferences and track progress after conferences are conducted. - Schedule Provider Meetings regarding various initiatives and exchanges of information, in addition to tracking performance via corrective action plans. - Perform routine clerical and administrative duties for the Unit such as scheduling interviews with prospective candidates, scheduling various trainings, updating Organizational charts; and assisting new employees with OIT and CityTime access. Work Location: 33 Beaver Street, New York, NY Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm Qualifications Qualification Requirements A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience. Skills Requirement Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
