The role
As a Supportability Engineer, you’ll take on a role that’s truly unique. This position combines your engineering expertise with project management skills to ensure the effective maintenance and safety of the UK’s naval fleet. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining the operational readiness of the nation’s nuclear submarines.
As part of the Requirements team, you’ll manage a range of maintenance tasks scheduled years in advance, from routine upkeep to more complex activities. Your key responsibilities will include refining work packages, identifying specific requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure a seamless handover to our waterfront teams.
Day-to-day, you’ll coordinate with different teams to align on requirements, ensuring our submarines return to sea safely and on time. You’ll review data, analyze packages, and engage directly with stakeholders to make sure they have the information and support needed. Additionally, you will manage change control processes and oversee the formal completion and closure of each work package. You will also:
Managing changes throughout the delivery of work packages Providing technical support and oversight across multiple work packages Liaising with both internal and external customers
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience for the Supportability Engineer Role
Qualifications for the Supportability Engineer
Minimum HNC / BTEC (Level 5) in a relevant STEM discipline or with demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering field
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
