Salary and Grade: $17 - $21.00 per hour; 76 Non-Exempt

Responsibilities Assist the Director of Social Services in preparing the Annual United Way Proposal, Annual Progress Report (APR) and other HUD and Salvation Army related documentationMaintain records and documentation for each participant as required by HUD and The Salvation ArmyCollect rent payments and utility bills for clients enrolled in the Supportive Housing ProgramCreate and submit monthly rent payment vouchersSupervise all Supportive Housing Program staff (Caseworkers and Case Managers)Conduct weekly/bi-monthly home visits to participants homesRecruit and enroll program participantsRepresent The Salvation Army at all meetings of the Berks County Coalition to End Homelessness and related committeesMaintain the HMIS system and ensure Case Managers and Caseworkers are entering accurate information based on monthly report provided by Berks Coalition to End HomelessnessMaintain the United Way Statistical ReportAttend informational fairs, etc to promote the housing programsWork with Case Managers and Caseworkers to see that all homes meet the standards set by HUDSecure and supervise the Life Skills training classesAssist in Food Distribution monthly or as scheduledAssist in the programming and distributions for all Holiday Assistance programsAssist in all other duties as assignedThe above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
Qualifications BSW or other human services related degree required – MSW preferredMust possess knowledge of the HUD regulations relating to Permanent Housing for Homeless and Disabled Families and IndividualsMust possess the computer skills necessary to maintain the HMIS systemPossess knowledge of the social, housing, financial and educational programs available to low income, disabled individuals in Berks CountyGood organizational skillsPA drivers licenseMust be self-motivatedMust possess good interpersonal skills and have a willingness to work with disadvantaged families and individualsBi-lingual/Bi-cultural an assetChild Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every five years.Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.Contact: Please submit your resume and cover letter as instructed below.
