Job Description:

About the Role: 

The Sanitation Supervisor position supervises all sanitation and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) operations, conducts audits of food safety, and quality procedures of the plant to assure a safe, efficient, productive, and positive work environment.  This person consistently directs, coaches, trains, and gives performance feedback to the associates performing sanitation duties.  All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA) and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).  You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to: 

Provide shift-focused supervision and communication to the sanitation employees. 

Manage all cleaning and basic repair activities in accordance with the standards, regulations and laws governing food safety, food quality and environmental safety regulations and monitors and accurately documents all work done. 

Ensures that all standards for food safety and food quality are met and exceeded, partners with QA Manager in conducting, analyzing, and improving end results of the Environmental Sampling Program. 

Keeps work environment clean, safe, and positive. 

Manages Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system.  Serves as primary contact for pest control provider.  Monitors IPM Data and assures preemptive and corrective actions are taken. 

Assures all sanitation employees are consistently trained in all required standards and expectations, including temporary employees. 

Manages sanitation performance against plant goals in safety, quality, TMOS, cost, customer service and culture. 

Works with the management team to develop safe work practices and implements them for effective safety that result in zero recordable and lost-time accidents and encourages safe work performance. 

Actively participates on the Food Safety & Quality continuous improvement process and TMOS as a subject matter expert in Sanitation.

About You: 

You’ll fit right in if you have: 

Associate degree in sanitation/related field or equivalent work experience. Food manufacturing preferred. 

Proven ability to supervise people in a constructive form is required. 

Proficient use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. 

Demonstrated experience following instructions/process documents and providing effective communication, both verbal and written. 

Knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, codes, and rules.
