Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY COMMUNITY PLANNER/GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT/CIVIL ENGINEER/INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER in the Asset Management Business Line of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities You will plan for future needs by evaluating existing conditions, confirming long range needs, and comparing available assets with approved facility requirements. You will review engineering requirements through the various stages of planning and criteria development to verify all factors meet mission objectives. You will implement planning criteria when managing projects (e.g., Master Plans, Special Planning Studies, Basic Facilities Requirements, and Facility Planning Documents) to ensure requirements are met. You will manage project planning, project schedules, technical guidance, coordination, and budget requirements for facility renovation and maintenance projects. You will refine project requirements for acquisitions and execution of sustainment, restoration, repair, alteration, and construction projects at an organization. You will brief senior leaders on project information (i.e., status, issues, costs, schedules) for successful project execution. You will develop and deliver presentations and briefs to staff and managers concerning the engineering and contract requirements of facility construction projects. You will recommend solutions and plans for the development of land (region-wide land use plans down to specific site development) so organizations have the required facilities to support their missions. You will resolve planning and construction issues with key players and stakeholders to meet requirements. OR Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in a field related to architecture that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems. OR Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings. The curriculum for a degree is in either architecture or architectural engineering and covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities OR you lack a degree in architecture, but have 1 year of experience in an architect's office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture that demonstrates that you have acquired a thorough knowledge of the fundamental principles and theories of professional architecture.
