Compass Minerals operates 12 production and packaging facilities with nearly 2,000 employees throughout the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Visit compassminerals.com for more information about the company and its products. **We are currently hiring a Lab Technician to join the team at our Goderich Evaporation facility in Goderich, ON.** **Goderich Plant** : Compass Minerals’ Goderich Plant has operated since 1867, after an unsuccessful search for oil uncovered a vast bed of rock salt under Goderich. Using mechanical evaporation, the plant produces high-purity, fine- and coarse-grained salt products in packages and in bulk for commercial, agricultural, and industrial applications. The plant also packages rock salt from the mine that is used for deicing and water conditioning. Goderich is named Canada’s Prettiest Town and is best known for its stunning sunsets. Goderich is a lakeside community of 8,000 people located approximately 1.5 hours from London and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. **How will you contribute to the team?** This position, reporting to the Plant Manager, is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control at the Goderich Plant. The QA Supervisor will drive quality improvement and supervise the local QC staff to provide quality assurance. To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: + Responsible for site Quality Management System and Food Safety program + Supervise QC to assure customer satisfaction with Goderich products. + Supervise the laboratory including personnel, results, reporting.(Note:Lab analysis and testing by the Quality Supervisor will be necessary for lab coverage, training, and investigation.) + Participate in immediate resolution to customer issues. + Manage the communication and follow-up of customer quality issues for the site. + Identify areas of deficiency and drive improvement. + Remain current and serve as site expert in pertinent product regulatory requirements. + Maintain communication and liaise with pertinent product regulatory agencies. + Identify deficiency with Goderich SOPs.Instruct and assist with the development, documentation, and control of SOP’s. + Participate with corporate quality to brainstorm, promote, and drive continuous improvement in Compass quality systems. + Work with corporate quality to identify, maintain, and report concise, encompassing metrics that communicate quality performance at Goderich site. + Plan and perform quality audits of Goderich Plant and other Compass sites. **Qualifications** **what should you bring to the role?** **Minimum Required Qualifications:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
