Summary You will serve as a Branch Supervisor in the Product Quality Assurance Division of the SUPSHIP GULF COAST. The purpose of this position is to provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex Shipbuilding Quality Assurance problems involving new construction contracts for naval ships and vessels. This is a Gulf Coast regional position. Responsibilities You will provide a high level of expertise and creativity for the solution of complex Shipbuilding Quality Assurance problems involving multiple new construction contracts for naval ships and vessels. You will evaluate employees work performance, approve leave, and solve problems related to work supervised. You will plan, schedule, and coordinate work operations. You will administer the development of surveillance plans, accept/reject criteria, sampling plans and assist in planning the details of their implementation. You will hear and resolve employee complaints and refer group grievances and serious complaints to the Comptroller. You will identify and recommend training needs. You will carry out EEO policies and communicate support of these policies. You will cooperate and participate full y in the development of EEO Affirmative Action Plans and efforts regarding staffing, motivation and training. You will develop and implement quality plans, execute instructions, procedures, directives and memoranda for use by Shipbuilding Quality Assurance. You will review and analyze contractors' inspection quality program and procedures, investigate quality problems, and recommend corrective action. You will have experience with Contract Administration Quality Assurance Program (CAQAP) for planning, document review, evaluations, product verification inspection, quality audit and data evaluation in new ship construction. You will evaluate the effectiveness of operations supervised in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity of standards, procedural, policy and regulatory compliance, and technical competence. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NH-03 (GS-12/13 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading quality assurance inspections, assessments, surveillances or audits on shipbuilding construction, maintenance or repair operations.
