Job Description: Warehouse Supervisor
 

Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor leads the warehouse team consisting of forklift drivers, administrative support and Leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


• Verify and ensure integrity of raw material quality and on-time delivery to Amcor from suppliers.
• Manage and maintain “on-time” quality deliveries to customers with professional presence.
• Responsible for contacting customer’s representative if a situation arises and an order isn’t sent per original request.
• Ensure corporate approved transportation is utilized and feedback/recommendations are shared to assist with improved transportation and logistics programs/contracts.
• Fully involved with local management team. Provides technical input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies/distribution and product quality relating to shipping and receiving activities.
• Establish priorities for the warehouse team and works closely with the shift supervisors to ensure the effective utilization of available resources.
• Directly supervise and train the shipping specialist and the warehouse team members, forklift operators and cycle counter to ensure a skilled workforce. Assess skills and recommend or provide training to ensure department personnel are competent in warehouse procedures/policies and department goals are met. Manage time and duties of shuttle drivers from main warehouse to off-site warehouses and back.
• Responsible for the following SAP functions: Proper ticketing of finished goods and raw materials, cycle counting, inventory control and reconciliation, HFI coordination and tracking, and other reports as needed.
• Responsible for enforcing all regulatory and company policies related to warehouse and transportation activities (including off-sire warehouses as required). Maintain accurate reports and filing of shipping and receiving documents and bills of lading. Verify accuracy of bills of lading at the time they are issued.
• Administer plant rules and procedures and recommend candidates for hire, promotion, disciplinary action and/or termination. Effectively handle employee complaints, suggestions, questions, and maintain employee morale and discipline through fairness and impartiality.
• Manage the movement of raw material and finished goods inventory to and from the plant and local offsite warehouse(s) to ensure adequate warehouse space based upon the production plan. Coordinate outgoing/inbound shipments with on-site freight carrier and outside carriers to ensure on-time customer shipments and receipt of materials and supplies. This includes inventory and control of returnable packaging (capital assets) to and from external/internal customers.
• Responsible for tracking department expenditures and labor costs to include compliance with plant and department budgets.
• Responsible for overseeing forklift leases, dock plates, doors, etc., and repair maintenance program. Ensure equipment meets required safety regulations and repair work is completed and documented.
• Responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety and health, environmental, GMP, AIB/HACCP, building and fire ordinances and standards and ensures warehouse team works in compliance with such standards.
• Assist in periodic (monthly and annual) physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
• Responsible for month-to-date shipping and receiving reports.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required
• Bachelor degree in Business Management, Logistics or related course of study plus 3-5 years relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job

 Employees must be able to work overtime, weekends and nights.

b.   Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

c.    Employees are required to stand / walk on concrete floors. 

d.   Employees are required to bend; turn / twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations. 

e.   Must have the ability to see close (at 20 inches or less) and distance vision (20 feet or more).  Ability to differentiate colors and good peripheral vision. 

             

3. Required Safety Equipment:

a.   Wear hearing and eye protection, as well as protective clothing including slip resistant toe shoes while working. PPE as required to operate equipment as needed.

4. Environmental Factors:

a.   Occasional exposures to noise of 85dB

b.   Occasional exposure to chemicals

c.    Occasional exposure to vibration, dust / fumes / gas, confined spaces, humidity

5. Other Requirements:

a.   Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values.  This includes entering information into an on-line database accurately.

b.   Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions / judgment calls based on the situation at hand.

c.    Proficient hand / eye coordination to drive a fork truck and perform essential functions as a Warehouseperson.

CompensationThe starting salary for this position is expected to be between $71,400 to $89,300; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range $71,400 to $107,200 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
