The Role

The High Voltage Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Plant Operations High Voltage Manager. Candidate shall be responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of the electrical distribution system preventative, predictive and repair maintenance. Candidate supervises the efforts of employees and/or outside contractors.

Candidate shall ensure that all employees are qualified to perform their assigned job functions. Identify and schedule required training for their employees. Candidate should have the technical knowledge to support his direct reports in troubleshooting system problems, provide resolutions for system problems/configuration changes, and provide input to support the development of technical documentation that governs the safe operation and repair of the electrical systems.

Candidate will be expected to place high priorities on safety and quality-workmanship and be willing to obtain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code and NFPA.

Additional areas of responsibility include and are not limited to:
• Emergency diesel generator and pump program.
• Automatic transfer switch program management.
• Secondary breaker maintenance/calibration administration.
• High voltage relay calibration/maintenance program.
• PowerLogic maintenance and administration.
• Transformer oil analysis program.
• System labeling and configuration management.
• SPCC Transformer Inspection Program.
• Radiological Facilities - distribution system maintenance.
• High and low voltage substation and switchgear maintenance.
• Dry Dock de-watering switchgear and pump motor maintenance.
• Yard wide high-voltage starter maintenance (yard wide air compressor and draft fans).
• Yard wide outdoor lighting.
• Duties also include succession planning including training, development and coaching of all team members.
• Responsible for ensuring all employees are qualified to perform their assigned job functions by identifying and scheduling required training for their employees.
• Responsible for the adherence and administration of all NNS Policies and Procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring that all facilities and systems are operated in a safe and efficient manner.
• Responsible for building strong customer relationships

Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience, plus a minimum of 4 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience or

Master's degree and 2 years relevant experience or

NNS Apprentice Certificate plus 4 years of applicable experience.

Nice to Have

• Should possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, with a strong understanding of system operation.
• Should possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical maintenance and planning.
• Strong knowledge of National Electric Code, & NFPA 70E
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Average or above interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to think strategically, act tactically, delegate appropriately, work well with others, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and promote a safe work environment.
• Experience with personal computer applications, especially word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Possess a Master’s electrician license.
• Experience with Trades Labor Relations.
• Experience with high voltage systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of casualty control for electrical distribution operations.
• Experience in PLC or DCS based control systems and strategies are highly desired.
